The VOCES8 USA Scholars
VOCES8 is delighted to have established The VOCES8 Scholars. First set-up in 2015 in the UK, and in the USA in 2017, the scheme consists of up to eight choral scholarships available to young singers looking to gain valuable experience and contacts within the industry at the start of their careers. It provides a unique perspective and training across various different skills, including performing, recording and leading workshops, all led by the members of VOCES8 and Paul Smith, co-founder of VOCES8 and author of the VOCES8 Method.
The VOCES8 Scholars programme was established as a training opportunity for young singers at the beginning of their professional careers. As part of their artistic development as performers, they receive coaching on a wide range of choral and solo repertoire from members of VOCES8 and from guest artists. The Scholars are also invited to observe and participate in our innovative educational programme, and learn to use the unique teaching tool The VOCES8 Method.
Highlights of the 2018-2019 season will include:
- A week of rehearsals leading to a final concert performance at St Andrew Academy of Music, Plano, TX
- Three days of recording sessions kindly supported by MPR in Minneapolis/St Paul, MN
- A shared concert performance and outreach involvement with VOCES8 during the Feb/March 2019 tour.
